Electrical Engineer

Telstra is looking for a Electrical Engineer to join the team. This is a newly created role, and you will have real scope to shape how it works from the first month.

About the role

This is a contract/temp position based in Newcastle, NSW. You will report to the team lead and work alongside a group of people who take pride in doing the basics well.

What you’ll be doing

• Contribute to continuous improvement — we act on good ideas quickly
• Follow all safety, quality and compliance requirements relevant to the role
• Work with your team lead to plan the week and flag risks early
• Report on progress and outcomes to the relevant manager
• Support onboarding and mentoring of new team members

What we’re looking for

• Attention to detail and a genuine sense of ownership
• Australian working rights
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Relevant experience in a similar role, or demonstrated equivalent capability
• A current driver’s licence (preferred, not essential for all locations)

What you’ll get

• A salary in the range of $133,000 – $158,000 per year
